Isntree – Yam Root Vegan Milk Cleanser Review

Oh, Isntree, one of my newly discovered, most loved brands of 2022!

So much so that I chose to try out other products from the same brand. And for those who wear makeup, a cleanser isn’t the most exciting product but it’s definitely a necessity to have.

Milk cleansers are very popular, as it melts off makeup without being too stripping and harsh on the skin. Leaving you with clean, supple, soft skin afterward!

I was excited to try my first milk cleanser with high hopes.

I just tried this for the first time (and I am probably the first because shipments would have only just arrived for really anyone who bought it) and I love it!

It’s very easy to spread and feels like a rich, gooey cream on the face. It feels very gentle and doesn’t strip the oils from your skin either.

It doesn’t feel like an oil cleanser and doesn’t quite cleanse the pores like an oil cleanser would unless my pores were exceptionally clean tonight 😂. It does however leave a slight film if you’re washing off in the sink (which I noticed when washing my hands with it) but didn’t seem to do so in the shower.

I think they give you the choice of putting it on wet skin or dry skin but the experience was roughly the same for me.

It emulsifies into a nice lather and looks thick but still more on the runnier side.

What It Does: Cleans skin, removes makeup

Best For: All skin types, especially sensitive skin

Key Ingredients: Andong yam root extract is rich in amino acids that soothe skin and form a protective barrier to lock moisture. Including coconut fruit, rice, soybean, sweet almond seed, and oatmeal.

Vegan/Cruelty-Free: Yes

Best Feature: Soft skin, Gentle, non-stripping cleanser

My Rating: ★★★★☆ 4.5/5

Overall – an excellent product and I’m excited to keep using it. I’ve been waiting for a first-step cleanser from them because they are the best brand around when it comes to sensitive skin bar none. I am used to double-cleansing since I do wear makeup and this makes my skin feel clean yet still maintains its moisture.

The only thing that I’m not used to is the residual oily film that stays on your skin after rinsing. But I can’t complain since my skin doesn’t feel like it’s been overly stripped of my natural oils. This oily film isn’t too obvious and maybe a common trait with milk cleansers, but it’s nothing a double-cleanse can’t fix.

Honestly, I can’t wait to try more products from Isntree!
